Dr. Austen Bisina
Senior Program officer at Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment
Dr Austen (Augustine) Bisina is a brilliant Nigerian who just completed his PhD in Social Studies. His passion for peace and humanity has compelled him to work with women, youths, ex-militants, security forces and children affected by armed conflict in the domains of human rights, reintegration, conflict resolution and peace-building for the last 10 years. Most significant is his work with the Niger Delta ex-militants that witnessed the successful resolution of conflict and reintegration of ex-militants in the communities.
Dr Austen believes meditation helps to clean impurities from the mind and is a unique approach towards peace-building. He is a fellow of the Central and West Africa Peace Fellowship 2016 and currently works as a Senior Program officer in the field of governance and human rights at the Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa).
